It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are what's still available for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It is hard for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her bow and seven international trophies have come from 10 attempts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing at all," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and after that the batsman was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was removed Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the last rival teams at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory following victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was at that stage they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her ultimate challenge.
